Transcriptions of parish vestry books, 1755-1775.

Davis transcribed the vestry books for St. Patrick Parish, Prince Edward County, Virginia (1755-1775) and Tillotson Parish, Buckingham County, Virginia (1771-1774). The vestry books contain church accounts as well as records of the wide range of vestry interests such as care of the orphans and poor, erection, furnishing and maintenance of church buildings, law suits, collection of tobacco taxes, tithes and fines. Indexes for each vestry book are included.
